Re-join

By Nicole Bernice Levy

The work aims to create and promote long-lasting furniture that will gain value over time, challenging the growing production of disposable objects and low-quality materials. The designs focus on creating pieces that focus on longevity and pride in ownership, exploring the relationship between the consumer and design. It explores ways design solutions can find ways to adapt to changing lifestyles and needs, while developing emotional connections, as ways to extend the lifespan of products. The design work utilises combining expressive construction in joinery with crafted details and natural materials, encouraging a close interaction and human touch.
